We produce two styles of wine: Kaimira Estate and Brightside. Both are made by us from grapes grown locally in vineyards we either own or manage. LATEST NEWS In April we received carboNZero™ certification, the second winery to do so in New Zealand and the first business of any type in Nelson. We are committed to continuing our efforts to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from our vineyards, winery and distribution activities and see this as an integral component of our long term commitment to sustainability in all we do. The picking period for the 2008 vintage can best be described as frenetic. We processed our largest harvest in little over three weeks which really put the design of the new winery to test and we were very pleased with the way things went. The quality of the grapes was uniformly good with the Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir looking particularly promising. The resultant wines are now at various stages of fermentation and we expect that bottling of the early release varieties will start in August. Out in the vineyards after a couple of weeks respite planning is well advanced to start pruning once the leaves have dropped. With a couple of reasonable frosts already in early May an early start is expected.
